The Licensed Practical Nurse provides direct and indirect patient care. He/She applies the nursing process to follow the plan of care for patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning. The Licensed Practical Nurse must possess good communication skills and must be able to effectively communicate with physicians, peers, patients and families. He/She works collaboratively with all members of the healthcare team to ensure quality care is delivered.
Minimum Education
Completion of a state-approved training program at a Technical School or Community College.
Required Skills
Basic Life Support (BLS may be obtained within 30 days of hire following orientation)
Licenses: Active LPN Tennessee License
