Torch Technologies is seeking a mid-level Test Engineer (TE) to join a team supporting the LRSO program.The U.S. Air Force is developing a new LRSO nuclear missile. The service plans to field the LRSO by 2030 to replace the current, General Dynamics (now Raytheon) AGM-129A Advanced Cruise Missile (ACM) that originally entered service in 1991. In May 2021, the Air Force awarded an Engineering and Manufacturing Design (EMD) contract to Raytheon Missiles and Defense, Tucson, Arizona. The Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) Nuclear Weapons Acquisition Division (AFNWC/NDB), which is resident at Eglin AFB, Florida, is the System Program Office (SPO) responsible for the acquisition. The role is located at Eglin AFB, FL.
Responsibilities:
This position requires a highly motivated individual with experience in test engineering. This individual would be responsible to:
Write/review test plans and procedures.
Provide technical feedback on the necessary measurements/tools/processes to successfully demonstrate performance of a flying weapon system.
Work with a team of various skills/backgrounds to develop test events and ensure stakeholder needs are met by the design and execution of various ground and flight tests.
Write/review test reports.
Present test plans and procedures to gain approval from leadership to proceed with testing.
Present test results to stakeholders and provide interpretation of the results.
Support the team in getting equipment, test hardware, range time, etc. planned and scheduled.
Desired Experience/Qualification
Experience in a program office is desired.
Must have ground/flight test experience.
Must have a current DOD Secret Clearance (or US Gov equivalent) and must be TS eligible
Must have 5+ years of experience.
Master's degree in a relevant engineering field is desired.
Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field is required.
Additional Notes
This position requires candidates to possess a current SECRET security clearance in order to access classified information. Inability to maintain a SECRET security clearance will result in a candidate being ineligible for this position.
