Job Description

Torch Technologies is currently seeking a candidate to fill the position of Technical Program manager for Torch's Combat Systems Business Unit. The Combat Systems organization supports a broad range of Army, Navy, and Air Force customers in the acquisition and sustainment of aviation and weapon systems.

  • The selected individual will work closely with senior leadership to define, develop, and achieve business unit goals and objectives. They will assist in managing groups within the organization whose work ranges across various disciplines within the Army Aviation and Missile community as well as support to the Air Force and Navy.
  • Provide mentoring, coaching and management to personnel across various Army, Air Force and Navy support organizations.
  • Provide leadership to employees that demonstrate commitment to corporate initiatives and to the culture of an employee-owned company.
  • Routinely target and initiate contact with major prospective customers in new or existing accounts in order to generate new business opportunities, help increase revenue with existing clients, and ensure customer satisfaction at the highest levels.
  • Assist the Director in outyear strategic planning and management of profit and loss across the business unit.
  • Administer reviews of personnel during merit cycles, bonus pools and performance reviews.
  • Work with Division and Directorate Managers to ensure that areas are executing to plans and customer support is on track.
  • Develop and maintain customer relationships and ensure performance exceeds expectations.
  • Manage and contribute to proposals,working cooperatively with accounting, human resources, contracts, security, and IT. Working with the Enterprise Program Management (EPM) group regarding Business Unit aspects of program execution. Working cooperatively with peer Business Unit Leads and Deputies.
Job Requirements

  • Education: Bachelors Degree in a technical discipline is required, an advanced degree is desired.
  • Training: Advanced management related training desired.
  • Skills: Program Management skills related to customer support, employee management, organizational design and strategic planning, opportunity development, profit and loss responsibilities
  • Requires a minimum of 15 years program related experience in related areas with at least 10 years functional or program management experience.
  • Torch is seeking candidates who have made a significant impact working within the Army aviation community. Experience should include prior leadership experience within one or more aviation programs and strong working knowledge of aviation platforms and associated systems from a DoD acquisition perspective.
  • Position requires that the candidate meet requirements to obtain a final security clearance.
  • Up to 15% travel may be required.
