The selected candidate is accountable for:

    Supporting the Space Systems Director for Growth and Capture to establish, maintain and execute the Space Systems business area strategy and business plan to capture new business and attain the Space Systems business goals.
  • Establishment and management of Space Systems business area processes and procedures needed to track and capture business opportunities, to ensure those opportunities meet the Space Systems business growth goals, and identify any departures from those goals
  • Supporting project and capture planning and execution of individual and/or a collection of disparate projects including activity and resource planning in coordination with the assigned engineering lead
  • Direct experience in developing capture and proposal plans inclusive of risk management plans, budgets, and schedules
  • Support business development efforts, to include proposals, white papers, RFIs complete with work statements, schedules, budgets, and technical content
  • Effectively conveys work results to the project team, business leads, portfolio managers, supporting functions, and supervisors in oral and written form; clearly communicates with sponsors, management and peers
  • Effectively integrates team member inputs into reports and presentations
  • Organizes, motivates, and leads project and capture teams
  • Works with the Space Systems Director for Growth and Capture to provide tight coordination between the Space Systems business areas, the Draper Business Winning Organization, and the Chief Strategy Office.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or above in a relevant engineering, technical, or business field of study, or candidates with requisite technical knowledge and skills gained through a minimum of 5+ years' professional work experience.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting multi-disciplinary teams in execution or analysis of captures and/or projects that are critical to technical or business strategic success.
  • Demonstrates the ability to understand the technical solutions being developed of sufficient depth to communicate discriminators, risks, and opportunities to an external audience.
  • Good marketplace domain knowledge in at least one sponsor domain (NASA, DoD, commercial industry, or Intelligence community), including awareness of sponsor issues, market opportunities, and contracting procedures.
  • Ability to understand customer needs and is able to support technical teams to define solutions to customer problems
  • Able to formulate technical tasks, support execution teams, and parse out sub-tasking, in the course of executing medium to large technical development efforts
  • Demonstrates the ability to define and/or apply common best business practices


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a capture, business development, and/or project management/analyst role supporting Research, Development, Test, and Engineering in the Defense department or Intelligence Community ...

Security Requirement: This position requires the candidate be a U.S. citizen and hold an active security clearance with an in-scope Background Investigation and ability to attain TS/SCI and Special Program Accesses.
