Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

Draper pioneers mission-essential solutions for Space Navigation, Human Spaceflight and Exploration, Sensing and Space Domain Awareness, Space Control, and ISAM to secure American freedom to operate in space and explore the secrets of the universe for the benefit of humanity.

The Program Manager reports to the Program Director and is responsible for profit and loss (P&L) of programs facing NASA, DoD, the Intelligence Community, and commercial industry, which span emerging technologies through system production, fielding, and sustainment. The Program Manager will be responsible for program execution and support business development activities for follow-on and future work. You will partner with Engineering and Business Functions to foster a culture of inclusivity reflective of Draper's core values and Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA).

Responsibilities include:

    Deliver on program commitments to customers with strong customer satisfaction across cost, schedule, technical, management, quality, and communications.
  • Act as main interface with customer and main company representative on all program related subjects.
  • Conduct project planning with the development and implementation of program plans, Integrated Master Schedules, and other supporting planning artifacts.
  • Lead cross-functional team by monitoring program status and providing program status updates to include completion of routine program management reviews, customer status reports, and other project documentation. Ensures program requirements and expectations are communicated and flowed down to all internal team members and subcontractors.
  • Lead cross-functional team in identification of risk and opportunities, development of mitigation strategies and tracking throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Maintain action items list and problem tracking systems and works with the Program team to provide updates and resolution development. Escalates to company leadership and customers as required to ensure resolution.
  • Lead technical, contracts, and subcontracts staff in monitoring of performance of subcontracts performing work.
  • Resolve conflicts, demands, priorities across assigned programs.
  • Lead proposal development teams in the development and delivery of project proposals to external customers and ensures adherence to the Draper proposal process.
  • Identify potential opportunities for possible pursuit and coordinates capture process for assigned opportunities. Tracks white paper and proposal submissions through the capture process and reports status.
  • Work with functional organizations to ensure program staffed to appropriate skill levels and work is being accomplished according to plan.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, or above, in relevant engineering, technical or business field of study.
  • Minimum of 6-years of professional experience in program planning, monitoring and control, or similar role, on major programs.
  • Understand the technical solutions being developed of sufficient depth to manage capture and execution and assess technical and programmatic risks.
  • Understand customer needs and can lead engineering to define solutions to their problems.
  • Apply basic program management knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to project/program activities to meet the successful delivery and execution of assigned programs.
  • Organize programmatic information for effective planning, execution, monitoring & control, and decision-making.
  • Work with people at all levels of the organization both internally and externally.
  • Provide leadership and guidance on program activities to assigned staff.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Program Management Professional certification.
  • Established customer relationships with Space Systems customer organizations: NASA, DoD, the Intelligence Community, and industry.
  • PhD or Masters in Draper's current technology and product base.
  • Active TS/SCI and/or SAP/SAR.
  • Experience with Lifecycle Management and Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS).

Security Requirement:

  • Top-Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI and SAP/SAR.
