Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience, plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant supervisory experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience to meet managerial expectations.

Applicants selected may be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

This position is at the Precision Structures and Optics (PS&O) division and is located in Cullman, Alabama. We provide aerospace structures and systems manufactured from unique materials such as Beryllium, Albemet and special alloys of Aluminum. These structures and systems support both defense applications and scientific systems, and are applied in both space and terrestrial applications. PS&O is the largest supplier of Beryllium structures and systems in the United States.

A unique feature of your work at PS&O will involve optical mirrors and telescope systems, with high precision requirements for mirror/telescope performance over all mission environmental conditions. You will work closely with optical engineers to achieve optical performance for both test and mission deployable systems.

As PS&O manufactures structures and mirrors, you will be involved in manufacturing processes, and will be intimately involved in applying specialized automatic polishing machine technology to achieve mirror surfaces.

As a Technical Manager: Optical-Mechanical Systems you'll be a leader of a cross functional team responsible for engineering efforts, products, and services that make a real difference in keeping our heroes and nation safe.

Workplace Options:
* This position is Hybrid/Flex as desired but requires an on-site presence 3+ days per week.
* While on-site, you will be a part of the Cullman, AL team

Target salary range: USD $150,000.00/Yr. - USD $160,000.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
