Job/Internship Description

The Corporate Accounting Intern is a member of the Corporate Accounting team assisting with the day-to-day accounting activities. The qualified candidate will be a can-do multi-tasker responsible for corporate accounts payable/accounts receivable, recording of journal entries, assisting with financial reporting, and performing a wide range of duties within the accounting department.

Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing and accurately recording invoices (including proper sales & use tax calculation)
  • Reconciling bank and credit card accounts and resolving discrepancies
  • Assisting with the month-end close including, but not limited to, preparation of journal entries, reconciliation of data sources and preparation of related financial reporting
  • Assisting with preparation of tax information
  • Participate in the budget and financial projection process
  • Maintain and document new and existing policies and procedures
  • Participate in projects and other related duties, as needed

Compensation:

The estimated hourly rate for this position is $20-$22/hour. The final hourly rate within this range will be based on year in school and previous internship experience.

Qualifications:

  • Current enrollment and participation in a Bachelor's or Master's Accounting or Finance program or related degree
  • Ability to work 10 to 20 hours per week during the school year, full time during the summer/breaks
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills (e.g. - pivot tables, vlookups, if statements and macros)
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule out of our Milwaukee office
