As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will be responsible for leading the rocket engine Cleaning, Passivation, and Verification (CPV) team at our new, state of the art manufacturing facility in Huntsville, Alabama. For this managerial position, we seek people are excited to work in a fast paced/high output environment and who are passionate about space and possess a strong desire to continuously learn and improve.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing personnel including: recruiting, quarterly performance reviews, coaching, managing work schedule, and monitoring labor hours and overtime.
  • Promoting and inspiring teamwork and good employee morale.
  • Managing resource projections and personnel assignments to meet demanding schedules.
  • Providing status updates on hardware deliveries at daily schedule meeting.
  • Developing training and ensuring team members training records are accurate.
  • Interfacing with engineers to improve assembly procedures and processes, review design concepts, and provide feedback for cleaning processes and supporting development tests.
  • Working with engineering team to develop cleaning processes and evaluating equipment, safety, and cost.
  • Ensuring all products meet quality standards in accordance with released engineering.
  • Maintaining stock of consumable items.
  • Ensuring all tools and equipment are maintained and calibrated.
  • Ensuring proper 5S and FOD controls are in place and adhered to.
  • Working safely with hazardous chemicals and high pressure.
  • Managing the initial startup of the processing facility in Huntsville

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead teams.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with multiple and rapidly changing priorities.
  • Experience with laboratory equipment, such as acid/base chemical processing systems, de-ionized water systems, vacuum ovens, pH meters, autotitrators, high precision analytical scales, microscopes, particle counters, etc.
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to document and maintain accurate records, as well as read drawings and prints.
  • Ability to use standard tools and basic fabrication equipment.
  • Experience assembling and troubleshooting aerospace or military hardware.
  • Familiarity with pressurized system and safety.
  • Familiarity with proper disposal of hazardous waste.
  • Attention to detail, passion for space and for success.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Must be physically able to:

  • Climb ladders and stairs, and work in small, restricted areas.
  • Lift and carry 25 lbs.
  • Work C (Weekend) shift, as well as weekends and overtime when necessary.

Desired:

  • Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts around flight critical hardware.
  • Knowledge in the use of 3D CAD tools (PTC CREO is preferred).
  • Knowledge of drawing and work order review and familiarity with inventory and issue tracking systems.
  • Working knowledge of a variety of fluid systems including Nitrogen, Helium, Hydraulics, Rocket Propellants and Cryogenics.
