We currently have a job opportunity for a person that wants to join a growing company.  Chembio is seeking to hire a Human Resources Generalist.


Position Summary:      The HR Generalist will play a key role in supporting the HR department, assisting in running payroll and contributing to the overall success of our organization.

Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Assist in the recruitment process by posting job openings, reviewing resumes, conducting initial screenings, and coordinating interviews.
  • Complete pre-hire employment checks (initiate Good Hire request and monitor for results)
  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, including preparing offer letters, conducting orientations, and ensuring a smooth transition into the organization.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and provide guidance on HR policies, procedures, and benefits.
  • Assist in resolving employee issues and conflicts through effective communication and conflict resolution techniques.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personnel files, HRIS data entry, and other documentation.
  • Assist in the administration of employee benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, and inquiries.
  • Prepare HR-related reports and documents as needed.
  • Conduct I-9 Audits and other internal audits monthly.
  • Assist in the entering new employees into the payroll system (Paylocity).
  • Assist in processing payroll on a weekly and biweekly basis.
  • Stay informed about relevant employment laws, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance in all HR-related activities.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and initiatives to promote a positive work culture and ensure legal compliance.
  • Participate in HR projects and initiatives aimed at improving processes, enhancing employee engagement, and supporting organizational goals.
  • Assist in planning company events, parties, picnics, etc.

        Qualifications Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 2 of experience in HR roles, with exposure to various HR functions preferred.
  • Strong understanding of HR principles, practices, and employment laws.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and HRIS software.
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential desirable.
