Job Description

SUMMARY

Motivates and leads staff to accomplish goals. Ensures work meets deadlines and accuracy expectations. Mentors team in emerging technologies and explores new technologies.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

* Monitor productivity and ensure work is completed to meet required standards

* Assists in delegating work as needed to ensure all projects are completed accurately and on time

* Provide guidance and coaching to individual contributors on day-to-day issues

* Performs or assists team in performing duties

* Responsible for proper training of team members on new technologies.

* Assists in managing department expenses according to the budget.

* Effectively communicate and works with internal and external customers

* Ensure area goals and projects are met and adhere to budget

* Provide resolution for escalated customer issues

* Regularly exercises independent judgment and discretion in daily activities and and follow department policies

REQUIRED SKILLS

* Analytical problem solving skills and proficiency in troubleshooting common IT issues, diagnosing hardware and software problems, and implementing effective solutions.

* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with users at all levels of the organization, make presentations and conduct meetings as needed

* Good organizational skills

* Good understanding of technical concepts related to the team's mission and duties.

* Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

* Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university, preferred

* Minimum Experience: five years in supervisory/technical lead role of equivalent experience, 5 years in a related technical position preferred with Windows and Linux experience.

ESSENTIAL DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC DUTIES and/or SKILLS

* Extensive experience managing Enterprise Level AD infrastructure, Microsoft Operating Systems, AD Security and Group Policies

* Expert understanding of Microsoft technologies (Active Directory, DNS, ADFS, Clustering, EntraID, etc)

* Subject matter expertise with clustering technologies, load balancing, systems design, security principles, and architecture best practices for scale

* Extensive experience implementing and managing Security software for Anti-virus, eMail protection, DMARC, Web proxy, Two-Factor authentication

* Subject matter expertise on server compute, storage, virtualization, security, monitoring and backup for IT projects and initiatives

* Responsible for enterprise server infrastructure design, implementation and delivery

* Knowledge in managing Cloud environments for one or more of the following, Azure, AWS, GCP or IBM Cloud

* Responsible for delivering Disaster Recovery standards, procedures and also monitoring and managing restoration activities

* Responsible for managing business applications such as Windows Server, Linux Server, Exchange, SQL Server, Office 365, Backups, Virtualization and Storage; VMware and third-party applications.

* Expert experience in Linux preferably RHEL

* Expert understanding of network protocols, TCP/IP network architecture and implementation

* Proficiency in a scripting language and knowledge of multiple scripting languages (Powershell preferred)

* Monitor and optimize system performance, reliability, and security to ensure maximum uptime and operational efficiency.

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
